Hi ,
Hitting a complete brick wall with this, something I thought no problem. I want to emit 5 particles per second from each point . Using the constant birth rate with just 6 I get odd bunching of points not a smooth emission.

in the birth rate using 1*$FPS gives me 24 particles per second, with the odd bit of noise in the emission. Dividing $FPS , lets forget that.
So my question is how can I control and get X particles per second with a smooth emission. Even with me altering the substep value.

Even in the birth rate I have take the number of particles / seconds ie 50/10
and I get a staggered emission.

I see what you mean, there seems to be some kind of randomness embedded into constant activation that can not be disabled. While 10 points are emitted, they are not evenly distributed between the two emission points.

If you disable constant activation and use an expression on impulse activation you might get better control.

if($F % $FPS,0,1)

Set your Impulse count to 10 (point number times 5 particles).

This will emit 5 particles from each point at the start of every second. This is not continuous, however, but will pulse every second.
