Hello everybody, i wanna know if its possible to emitt light from the density attribute from a volume.
I apply a cloud noise to a torus, and want to emmit light from the intrrsection of the noise patterns.
is thah make any sense?
because i tried to put a light behind my torus cloud, and even tweaking and remaping density i couldnt achieve the desire effects wich is when a light try to push and go trough the cloud.

Thank you very much.

Turn your object into a GEO light then Enable the point cloud feature.
Using Houdini Indie 20.0
Ubuntu 64GB Ryzen 16 core.
nVidia 3050RTX 8BG RAM.

Thx

Hi, again, i was thinking, if it make sense, to use an attribfromVolumeSop and bind the density and plug in into an fitrange in vopsop and connect the result into Cd attribute, so, in this manner i could tweak the values of my density and convert this value into color values and then emmit light from there.
is this a good workflow?
Thx

the easiest way is to select your volume geo node, and click the volume light button on the Lights and Cameras tool shelf
