Hi,

i have just downloaded apprentice, i want to model some polygons but when i run the program there are about 6 programs to choose from, which one do i need for modelling ?

Also, does anyone know any good tutorials for poly modelling in houdini ?

Thanks

you can just choose houdini master, it will prompt you to obtain a license, just choose apprentice and you will be on your way.

there used to be video tutorials around but with the redesing of this site they aren't available anymore. Perhaps someone has a direct url to the videos and can post them.

I would look in the houdini help browser for the getting started tutorials. You should also go to 3dbuzz.com and download their free houdini training videos.

Cheers,

There's lots of good video tutorials for houdini here (which start from the basic): http://www.3dbuzz.com/ [3dbuzz.com]
Some older tutorials:

I suggest you spend sometimes with the help that comes with houdini.
first you can follow the basic tutorials to get familiar with UI and basic concept.
and then go to Operators>>Operator examples.. where you can find all kind of cool examples using almost every OPs .
I think it will answer your questions..
Have fun !!!
where am I?
