Hello all!

My first post here. Greetings, and congratulations to SideFX on the latest Beta release!

I have a few questions regarding the new courses at Aula Tematica in Spain:

1. Are these courses certified from SideFX? If yes, then is SideFX awarding the certificates or the institute?

2. Who are the faculty? Are they SideFX authorized trainers?

3. What are the prospects for a student completing this course? I understand some students have 3d/animation backgrounds, and some dont. So how does this work? Is AT providing ‘after-sales’ support, i.e. helping with placements, etc? I just need to know how well is the professional community going to support the student who has just spent over USD 7000/-!?

4. When is the next intake?

I would appreciate any and all help regarding the courses run at AT, as i am seriously considering them.

Thanks for taking the time to read through. Appreciate it!

Regards,

Given you've posted late on a Friday, it's only just Sunday, and the questions you're asking seem like they should first be asked at the school in question, not the software supplier, I don't find it all that weird. I would contact the school in question on Monday.

Yeah, hopefully not many other people are as nerdy as us, checking SESI's site every minute we get on the weekend!

I am back, I am back!
Hi magzegandum like Coldrick said when you began this thread was late at Friday in Spain so I have just finished a hard working week at Aula Tematica.
So here I am.
I am the the instructor for the Aula Tematica Houdini courses, appart of being the Product Manager in this area, so my work is not only related to students I have to work with studios providing consulting services.
I hope, and I open, to any questions about the courses.
First of all, thanks to be interested in our courses.
Secondly. answering your questions magzegandum:
1-Yes, our training center is officially certified by side FX.
2-And yes again, like I have said before, I am the instructor, and I am the first certified instructor in Spain too. I am certified in the level 2, the maximum level granted by sidefx to an instructor.

In addition, we will publish a press note with all the information, I can advance that a couple of weeks ago we have the visit of David Roberts, one of the main production consultant at Side FX, at our facilities in Madrid, he talked with many of the Aula Tematica students to show Houdini to them and to support our recently launched course at Spain.

And finally solving your last doubt the new intake is for August.
Now we are at the middle of the first course, and it is going really well, so we decided to announce a new intake, the new course will be along August-September.

We will publish all the information along this week and the next.
For more, information, about the courses, regarding to prices, course syllabus, etc … don't hesisate to drop me an email at:

Un saludo
Best Regards

Hello everyone.

Appreciate the replies, and JColdrick and jason: I live in UAE, so the concept of a weekend off from SAT to SUN is practically nil here. Sure there's a weekend of sorts here, but its much more complicated. In a nutshell, there are three kinds of workforces in this country who have three kinds of weekends: The locals (nationals of the country) whose weekend starts from WED to FRI; The multinationals/high-level executives whose weekends are from FRI/SAT/SUN, and then there are the others, few of whom enjoy a full- blown THU/FRI weekend. And then there are the individual companies who dictate their own rules on how a weekend should be, if at all!

I did mention it was complicated, didn't I?

Although I had gone through the entire course description on AT's official site, and read the press releases on SESI's site, I was trying to get a third-person perspective on the courses. Thats because the courses are not cheap. But neither is the software. So i was looking to get some advise on what to expect for the money.

lisux, thanks for the update and info. Like i mentioned, i did go through the course outlines on AT's site. I'm happy to know they are endorsed/supported by SESI, if that is what authorized means.

Further, i'm looking to join your next intake in AUG/SEP.

I'll be keeping an eye out on the updates for the next classes.

Thanks and regards,

Hi magzegandum, great to see people from so far interested in Houdini!
It remembers me that now we have an student from Australia, another far country for us, is always great to know students from other places.
I understand you about your doubts when you are considering a course like this.
I created a thread in Odforce to cover the creation of the final excersise of the course, maybe it will be useful for you, to take your own idea of the course excersises:
