New user question here: I'm experimenting with lighting and not able to see the effect of an environment light in my scene.
Steps to reproduce:
- New scene
- Ctrl+click Create|Grid
- Ctrl+click Create|Sphere
- Ctrl+click Lights|Area Light
- Ctrl+click Lights|Environment Light
- Display Options|Lights -> Lighting Quality=High Quality Lighting and Shadows, Shadows|Ambient Occlusion=True
I'm not seeing the effect of the environment light or ambient occlusion. What step did I miss?
Thanks!

The environment light requires a texture to have a visible effect in the scene viewer.

Build 17.5.237 also improves the shading of environment lights without an environment map in HQ Lighting.

Thank you! Added an HDRI to the environment light and it does appear to be behaving as expected.
