Hello,

I have a top network which makes several pieces of ice with a work item for each piece. I need to feed the results of that into another network to scatter those pieces. In order to do that I need to load the ice pieces as one piece of geometry, merging several work items into one. What’s the best way to do this?

Hi, you could load the files sequence with a ‘file merge’ node in SOPs context. It does what you're looking for.

There should be a way to use the file merge node also in TOPs inside a ropgeometry node (if u double click on it), to write to disk a single bgeo file, instead of a sequence.
And probably there's also a more official way to do it in TOPs, but I have no idea.. I'm new to TOPs as well.

cheers

You can use the geometry import TOP node, use the “Upstream Result File” menu option for the “Geometry Source” parameter, then activate “Merge Input Geometry” toggle. Before this, you should partition your incoming work items.

I hope it helps!

Cheers!

Thanks Alejandro. I tried this initially but it wasn't working so I thought I was doing it wrong. I deleted the node and tried again and it did work. Thanks for the sanity check!
