Hi.

Which special symbols (such as ^, !, &… etc) are used as operators in Hscript expressions and what does each of them mean? Especially ^ and !. I saw them being used to mean “NOT” but I'm not sure how they're different. I tried to search some instructions but couldn't find any of them. I'm sorry if there's an instruction about this somewhere already.

Greetings,

yeah, I did have to search for them too at first, check here:
https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/network/patterns.html [www.sidefx.com]
but also check the help under houdini groups, for more.
https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/model/groups.html#syntax [www.sidefx.com]

as for the distinction between ^ and !
the former stands for “remove what follows”(from the selected pattern), the later for “not”or “everything but”.
