UVs crossing over UDIM Tiles.

I'm experimenting with UDIM UV Tiles, but I noticed that the UVs would cross over the tiles (see image). Is this a normal behavior or am I missing a setting? If so, how do I pack the UVs on each tile without the overlap. Id like all the UVs to be contained within the UVs bounds. I'm using Houdini 17.5.229.

Thank you in advance!

There is no easy solution to this. The best you can do is choose the UDIM's for each island in advance, but there's no ideal packing that also chooses the ideal udim for you.

in uvlayout, change Scale to Fixed
USE Tile Grid, adjust the number of Columms you want.
Tweak scale Fixed value to fill the udim tiles.
You get Udim Tiles without overlap …
Hope this helps

Thank you bumba! I don't understand why this isn't a single checkbox option (seems like the same problem as having non-intersecting circles in heightfield scatter).

Been looking for a workaround and found out the I just needed to uncheck the Default UDIM checkbox for it to work properly. Hope this works for everybody else.
