Max Whitewater Particles = 40m particles

OS: Windows10 Pro
RAM: 256 gb

Whitewater simulation with density control OFF caps my simulation at 50 gigs of RAM, and completes without any problems.

Whitewater simulation with density control ON maxes out my ram at around frame 80 and crashes immediately afterwards.

Can someone explain to me what is going on and how can I enable density control without crashing my sim?
