Hi,

I need help with Vellum.

I have a noise animated surface and a vellum setup which is perfectly working until it comes to the vellumsolver node. There it becomes static.

Does somebody knows how to keep it working?

I attach a screenshot of my setup.

Thanks in advance.

A simplified hip that contains the core of your problem is usually a better way to get answers.

That said, it's pretty common behaviour for houdini simulation to only read the first frame of your geometry, or to use it to emit stuff within the simulation, eg particles.

For vellum, a vellum rest blend node inside your solver is one of the more common ways to make your sim follow your object. Set the mode to 'every frame', set its target to your sop geometry, and dial in the amount. There should be lots of tutorials around, Paul Esteves has some nice quick ones that should get you started.

Hi mestela,

Thank you very much for your help.

And I will keep it in mind to simplify my hips. Thank you for your time to go through my mess of nodes.

I am still working on it how to simplify my workflows in Houdini. I completely felt in love with this tool and will learn as much as I can.

Now I am going to work on your suggestion.

Have a nice one,

Zoran

Still can't figure out a solution for my problem.

As a beginner I was able to setup this vellum animation (attaching mp4) with noise animated surface and vellum sim. But when it comes to see all together activating the vellum solver.... the noise disappears. And I am not able to figure out what to do.
Any ideas?
