Hi!
My company, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, is planned to buy one more lisence of Houdini Master for me.
But before this I need to understand one thing.
I would like to pass the next steps:
1. To bring, for example, 100 single objects from Maya into Houdini.
2. Create Rigid Body simulation in Houdini.
3. Save the baked simulation as animated keys for using in Maya.
Do Houdini have any solution for this?
Thank you so much!
Transfer of keyframe animation from Houdini into Maya.

Plenty, just use search:

There are some issues but in general this is practiced all the time.
As to importing many object at once if you can save them in Maya as one object with groups it's easy to separate them back in Houdini. Or just use Collada. I've never used it with Maya but in XSI it works great.
cheers,
sy.

speaking of which, Is there a collada for maya on Linux binary floating around somewhere?, or has anyone here managed to compile it succesfully(x86_64). We'll be buying our first few hfs licences next month or so and collada has us piqued (even if we can use it in a small way) so does anyone have any success stories to share
