I've stuck at the older version due to old cpu not supported

I cannot even uninstall, when uninstalling, an error message popping out saying 'The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142) nor that I can install the latest launcher, so I'm basically stuck, anyone knows how to uninstall them properly?

I can tell you how to "improperly" uninstall. Just throw the folders away. Use version 20.5.278. It still works on CPUs without AVX2 support.
Using Houdini Indie 20.5
Windows 11 64GB Ryzen 16 core.
nVidia 3060RTX 12BG RAM.
