This might have been brought up before however, I'm finding in v6+ that
the channel editor viewer isn't showing graph channels.
Putting down an Wave chop and attempting to view the channel in the view and interactively manipulating it doesn't work. If I RMB the chop and select edit channel I get the wave but just to edit the default set of keyframes.
v5.5 on this machine provides the anticipated channel view.
This is on Win2k.

I'm a bit confused by your description. CHOPs can only be viewed in the CHOP viewer. The channel editor edits “channels” which are completely different from CHOP data. There is the channel editor and the CHOP viewer, which are two entirely different things.
Edit Data Channels is a way to convert CHOP data (raw) into “channels” data by using keys to approximate the CHOP data.

Yes it may seem confusing, though I'm not trying to equate the two.
However, in the Chops editor the viewer doesn't display the default sine wave or the editing handles of the Wave chop, yet when I call up the channel editor from the Wave chop the sine wave is there.
