Hello everybody,

I just played around with the flipbook and wanted to change the output to save directly to the disk, but no matter what I enter into the Output field, I always get “Image file save error: Unable to create image XXX.XX”

I tried different formats, different paths, with and without extension and with or without $F for the frame number. The only thing that works is ‘ip’, i.e. MPlay.
Is there any special format that I have to use for the filename?

Works for me here on Windows using 9.5.247. The only thing I can think of offhand is that you're on Windows and you're wrongly using backslashes in your file name instead of forward slashes. eg. cflip.$F.tiff

Hm, that's not it, neither direction of slashes works with my Windows.
And usually I select the path from the file browser, so MPlay should give me the right ones anyway.

I use the Apprentice version 9.5.170 btw.

Try this ie ,

your HIP

GProjects_vfx_houdini/project/hip/rse_particleFluidTest01.hip

Your renders

GProjects_vfx_houdini/project/images/rse_particleFluidTest01.$F4.tif


so in your render path you would type

$HIP/../../images/rse_particleFluidTest01.$F4.tif

/../../ denotes go up one level then down , hope this helps. Also you really should upgrade that version to a new shiny one !

Still doesn't work, but I'll update my version now. Thanks for mentioning that! I thought the apprentice version would be updated in larger intervals and you could only get the newest build with the commercial version.

The Apprentice limitations are enforced by license. There is no difference in the executable between the Apprentice and commercial version.

Yes ,edward right ,I have no problem with Apprentice version too,Can Can you upload a simple file about your problem for us !? :?

Also check your access permissions ,Maybe it's because that !
