Is There a Complete Character Rigging Tutorial?

Houdini is very inspiring to me and seems like it will be a worthwhile suite of software to master, even if I can't personally afford it. However, I can only find tutorials on rigging an arm and a foot. I'm sure there are snares to avoid with other parts of the anatomy, so I am hoping to find a complete set of lessons on character rigging and eventually on total character animation with Houdini. It may be too early to ask for such things, (seeing that it's character animation tools are quite young), but I hope they exist, nonetheless.

Hey SESI, really looking forward to seeing the “Creating a Character Asset” tutorial in the User Guide. Also this “Keyframe Pose Interpolation” has piqued my interest quite a bit, any examples out there?

thanks

Hey,

Did you check out the Rigging Videos from 3D Buzz and they have some on the video section here in the community section on the sidefx site. Just click on video link then click on the character link on the left. I am currently doing character rigging defantly watch the www.3dbuzz.com videos because they little things that will drive you crazy if you do not know about them and buzz lays them all out. It will save you so many headaches.

Nate:

Thank you for the information. I do belong to 3D Buzz, but every time recently that I have tried to download the Houdini material, the server has been too busy or down or something. Tried again today and I struck pay dirt.

This brings me to a second question. Do you know or does anyone know of an online certification course for Houdini? I found one at AAC in San Francisco, but then someone said that place was bad mojo. Can anyone elaborate on this? Secondly, does anyone know of a trainer in Houdini that is available to conduct a seminar in the Red Rock country of Arizona? Please email any references to me at:

brucegregory@infomagic.net

Thanks again for the assistance,

Sincerely,
