i cant see any icons in houdini

I cant see any icons in houdini i have 32 bit windows vista i have tried deleting the drictory and i have put the HOUDINI_OGL_SOFTWARE environment variable to 1 and HOUDINI_OGL_ENABLE_SHADERS variable to 0 and it still didnt work i dont know what to do next can someone please help me thanks

- Disable UAC (google for this)
- Delete $HOME\houdini10.0
- Delete C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Side Effects Software
- Turn off all firewall or antivirus software just in case as a test.
- Reboot

If this works, then slowly turn back on your firewall and reboot, then turn back on antivirus and reboot, and then enable UAC and reboot. Basically, try to find which of these things is the cause. If it's simply a UAC problem, then launch Houdini “as administrator”.
