Just got started with Houdini and interested in doing some snow falling to import into Nuke. I am aware that there is a snow solver in the HDK but not sure I should try to work off that. I see lots of smoke, fire, particle, fluid tutorials… but where are the snow ones? There are a few for Maya, but none for Houdini.

$10 for anyone who can point me to a decent snow tutorial!

In terms of accumulating snow, you might want to search for posts on sand instead.
Also check these videos for more violent snow:

I don't know if this helps or not. But SideFX just released a snow digital asset on the Orbolt site. 8)
