Honeycomb Microphone Modeling

Hi there!

Does anyone know how I would go about modeling the honeycomb grating and the criss-cross stitching behind that.

here's a really quick attempt. Still needs work to give you the roundness at the top and bottom, but it's a start.

I also did a different type of microphone a while back where I had to model this criss-cross pattern. The solution isn't the nicest and it only works, because the middle part of my round mic is hidden in the final model, but it might give you some ideas how to start.

I think this method could be reproduced under Houdini. At least it is another way of approaching this thing.
