Creating a 2d elliptical spiral

How do I approach this creating this geometry?

I want to generate a 2d elliptical spiral 8 x 6 OD. with 8 revolutions inward at .06 spacing between the turns. (Houdini units)

I'd like to use the geometry as a path.

Thanks for the link and file.

It looks like it will do the trick. I just need to play a little more to get the right spacing. Then I'll delete the unwanted segments in the center, and I should have exactly what I need.

I'm going to study that script, I can see where it would be a handy tool.
