Hi , i want to make this Jericho effect from Iron man ,
(That small missile jump out from the main one and then go forward)

But honestly, I don’t have much experience with animation, but I’m trying to achieve this using RBD.

I need two velocities: one for opening, and another for moving forward. What I want is for the pieces to slow down after opening, then change direction and move forward. The slowing down is intentional — I just don’t know how to properly control this velocity transition.

Is there a VEX approach for this, or any hint on how I should handle it in RBD? I’d really appreciate some guidance.

Hello. I prepared a demo project for you. I encourage you to check it out. Once you open it, you will see "SCENE" geometry node, 2 cameras and env light node. Inside SCENE node, you will find that I made a quick missile model, how I simulated the panel explosion and small secondary missiles. I did everything in RBD, however, you could take POP net approach for simulating the secondary missiles. I also showed how to manually create p@orient attribute from v@v in "create orient" attribute wrangle that makes secondary missiles point in the right direction.

I’ve attached two preview videos of the final result alongside the HIP file. I hope you find some useful tricks inside!

Thank you so much for taking the time to build the entire project. It really helped me a lot.
