Hi ho,

is there an other way do assign Icons to an HDK-Node ?

I tried this:
1) icon named like the node and copied in to the /houdini9.1/config/Icons folder, but i dont have an .icon or .pic file and .png does not seem to work.

2) Lay down one Node and go to the Type Properties, add an Icon and save the whole thing as an otl, … this works but it seems a little bit weird to me since i wrap an .so in a otl.

if there is some other way than the second please let me know.

Convert your icon into a .pic file first using the iconvert command line utility that comes with Houdini. Or just resave as .pic using mplay. Then copy it to the Icons directory.

JPGs work too.
Funny enough I ve to name my icon in lower case after the SOP
example:
DSO: SOP_FBX_Export.so
Icon: SOP_fbx_export.jpg

ie, can dsos pick up an icon to use that doesn't
have the same name as the .so?
