Thanks for the clarifications, and sorry to have raised such a hot topic .
No apology required. It is important for us to hear about these issues when they crop up. They offer us reminders of things we have yet to resolve properly.
My goal was just to point out that when these issues come up we can do two things:
1) Fix the problem which will work for the long term. This is not something we will talk publicly about very often and we can usually not make promises because this involves finding the right development resource and scheduling them in.
2) Offer suggestions to avoid the problem or fix it. Side Effects is committed to supporting customers and can often suggest workarounds that will solve your problem right away.
So keep the posts coming and never be afraid to ask questions or point out weaknesses in the software. I am just suggesting that the people who are offering workarounds should not be held accountable for something they cannot control.

PS - posting a file can also help because with Houdini's node-based approach someone can fix things for you and you can “see” the solution in the network.
