I know that the Windows and Linux versions of Apprentice HD are separate purchases. I already own HD for Windows.
If I buy HD for Linux, can I use any of the Linux versions (see below) if I change say from Debian to Red Hat? Or is use of all the Linux versions included?
Debian 64-bit Linux (etch)
Ubuntu Linux 7.10 (64-bit)
Ubuntu Linux 7.04 (64-bit)
openSUSE Linux 10.2 (64-bit)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (64-bit)
Ubuntu Linux 7.04
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
Debian Linux (etch)
Ubuntu Linux 5.10
Red Hat Linux Fedora Core 4
Linux i686 gcc3.3
Thanks.

mmm, that's an interesting question. I suppose the Kernel version in those distros should be the same so that the hardware and mac address detected remains unchanged among them. I just tried the debian installer (since it's GCC 4.2, and latest ubuntu comes with that GCC version) on Xubuntu Hardy 8.04 X64 and it worked great. Besdies, the installer Houdini uses is not debian or RPM based (bounding it to a specific distro) but script based and looks for folders that are common to any linux distribution (/usr/lib, /opt, /etc) so I think the installation should work cross-distro wise.
But perhaps Oleg or some of the other devs could give you a more accurate explanation. I'm also thinking of purchasing HD for Linux on the same machine!!!
regards,
Alvaro

As long as you return your license before reinstalling Linux, you can redeem the license again after installing the new distribution.
Thanks, Catllee! :-)
Just what I wanted to hear. I have a Windows and a Linux dual boot and I change Linux distros sometimes for various reasons.
Good to know.
Cheers
