Hello,
Can any one help me in setting Houdini file browser for Mac, OSX.
I can not choose “ Show as one entry ” option when i tried to load sequenced file as one entry. I only can see individual frame files because it's under Mac file browser. Thanks folks in advance.

To use Houdini's file chooser, you can set the HOUDINI_USE_NATIVE_FILE_CHOOSER environment variable to 0. For how to do this on OSX, please see this thread:

PS. You might also want to try setting it to 1 first so that it will use the native file chooser still for File > Open.

and if you don't have access to the above link here is a relevant excerpt:
In tomorrow's cut (9.5.107) there will be a new way of specifying environment variables when you run Houdini (all of the old ways still work).
On the Mac, items launched from the Dock have a very minimal environment specified. You can add variables to that, but it is a long, convoluted process that involves logging out and back in. So, for users launching Houdini from the Dock, we need another way of specifying environment variables.
There will now be a houdini.env file under the user's houdini directory (ie ~/houdini9.5/houdini.env on Linux or ~/Library/Preferences/houdini/9.5/houdini.env on OS X). If you do not have such a file, then a template file with some helpful comments will be created when you run Houdini. That file should have one assignment per line.

This is fantastic news. I've been waiting for a houdini file that gets loaded on startup to set the environment like a job dependent HOUDINI_PATH. It means on linux, I can use the desktop menu to launch Houdini without a wrapper script or without logging in and out. It finally means using the default install method and things work immediately. I know you can always DIY it, but for a desktop application, I simply shouldn't need to fiddle with the command line to get it to do what I want.
Now that I get to think about it again, what even would be more fab is that the HOUDINI_PATH wouldn't be an env variable but a houdini variable. That would mean we can change the HOUDINI_PATH from within houdini, and AFAIK this is n't currently possible.
Thank you SESI.
