I'm just coming to Houdini from Cinema 4D, and I was wondering if there is any equivalent to the HyperNURBS tool (which converts flat geometry into a smooth rounded mesh, the roundness of which is weightable for the different faces in the original geometry). I have tried using subdivide, but this has more of a smoothing effect and does not actually change the shape of the object very much, and if it's weightable I can't figure out how. HyperNURBS was very useful in the creation of organic, rounded objects from simple underlying geometry, and I would very much like to be able to do something similar in Houdini. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
M. Austin

Looks like HyperNURBS are subdivision surfaces:

To get the creases, you need to use the Crease SOP. Tab-Type Crease in the viewport, select the edges or primitive faces you want to add weight to, then increase the weights.
The Subdivide SOP will use the crease weights.
Currently the Subdivide SOP doesn't support negative creaseweights to push the surface away.
It also looks like vertex points tugging on corners isn't supported.
Please submit the RFE's (Request For Enhancements) to Side Effects support for the Subdivide SOP and mantra's subdivision surface renderer.

The Ends SOP is a subset of the Primitive SOP and is used to manipulate the end condition of faces (curves, polygon faces, etc.). It can close faces or open faces with a few nice options.
The Unroll option is what I am using to open the faces and add an extra end vertex. This is a nice handy way of creating a wireframe out of input polygon faces.
I did this strictly for illustrative purposes. It is not important but handy to know what unroll does. It is real handy to make wireframe handle icon geometry for character handles, vfx tools, etc.
