So this is driving me nuts..

sooner or later whenever I do something in Houdini the ortho grid will stop beeing axis aligned and I have no idea what causes it or how to get it back.

And it's not as simple as pressing space+f/g it's still not axis aliged to the axis “gizmo”. I've tried to changing Tumling methods but it doesnt reset it and well I have no clue how to fix it. I even tried to copy my network over to a new scene and for some time it was reset but then it came back

Any ideas ?

You mean the construction plane?

To adjust the construction plane, go to the viewport yellow in-view menu, the left label in the box and find the Construction Plane options. You can reset the construction plane to a few different options.
