I downloaded a MAYA file (it contains animation/rigging) from CREATIVE CRASH. Can you please give me step-by-step directions on how to open up the file in HOUDINI? In Houdini, I want to add my own shaders and add additional particles to the file.

You can also export your Maya scene using the FBX exporter. In Houdini, in the File menu you can import the fbx file right in to Houdini.
There's at least one school like the old school!

There isn't anyway to do this if you don't have a copy of Maya is there?
