H14 Apprentice license on OSX

If you install H14 on OSX and obtain a license from our site, it will obtain and install the license, at which point you'll receive a dialogue box that says Run, View Licenses, or Close.

Pick Close.

If you run from that dialogue box, it will hang and you'll have to use the vulcan death grip of command, option, Esc to Force Quit it. After that, it will run normally.

I hit run and it worked fine for me on 10.10.1.

However, H14 says Houdini Indie in the Finder top menu bar but the Houdini title bar says Houdini Apprentice NC and I can't render in HD. My Indie license expires Feb 17 so I'm not too worried about it but is there some way I can run the Indie at HD resolutions? Am I missing something? My licensing admin / server all look good, its just the HD limit that's the pain.

I'm assuming I'm one of these people?

“Note that some users will receive Apprentice HD licenses which can be used to run Houdini Indie 14. This license will work until your term expires at which
time you can move to a Houdini Indie license. In the meantime, both Houdini
Apprentice HD and Houdini Indie licenses will run Houdini Indie14.”

Thanks, Kevin

Hi Kevin! The lovely ladies at support@sidefx.com can help you sort out your licensing issue. Sounds like you're clicking on the Houdini Indie icon as you should but for some reason, it's not seeing your Indie license.
Send them your license diagnostics when you contact them.

I don't think this is an issue anymore. I have been doing this for a long time and never saw the problem.
