Hi everybody,
I am having a lot of trouble installing non-commercial version of Houdini on my Mac - had no problems at all on Windows.
Whenever I try to open Houdini, the License Administrator pop up always gives me this error:
“ERROR: Invalid machine name”
Does anyone know why I would get this error message?
Also, when running the License Administrator separately I get these errors:
“License server code: (not running)”
“License server version: (not running)”
Any help on this would be awesome.
Thanks!
Huge trouble installing on Mac OS X

I recently ran into some problems when upgrading Houdini to a new version on OSX. It ends up that the problem is that you have to be the administrator on 1st run of Houdini or it does not have permission to write the license file and fails.
Also for Apprentice install don't choose the License Server, use Local Licensing instead.

What is your actual machine name? Do you have special characters in your user name or machine name?
