Hi!
I am working in a studio with a Houdini user. He seems to be losing his connection to the license server frequently. I have been investigating this, and the solution is to always restart the HoudiniLicenseServer service. The service is running on a server running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. Has anyone run across this issue? Does anyone know of anything that would cause the service to stop regularly?
The user is using Houdini 12.5.469.
Thanks!
Have to restart HoudiniLicenseServer service frequently

When this happens are you able to locally run the License Administrator (hkey.exe) and get any information out the license server? This is just to rule out network problems. Once you have the License Administrator started up, I would also double-check to see if the license server version is at least >= 12.5.469. Another troubleshooting tool is to enable logging on the license server to see if there are any hints there when this happens (see https://www.sidefx.com/faq/license-management/#faq15 [sidefx.com] )
