Hi everyone,
I am using Houdini Indie and I am trying to open the Display Options, by clicking on the eye icon or pressing the short cut D. But I am alsways getting an error message:
“The attempted operation failed. Icon with name ”NETVIEW_hda_unlocked_badge" does not exist.
Has anyone an idea how to solve this or if there is any other way to open it?
Thanks a lot for your help and have a nice evening
Anna

What version are you running? It sounds like there may be a problem with your installation, or perhaps with the specific build you are running? That icon should definitely exist… You could also try deleting your $HOME/houdini16.0/config/Icons directory, in case there is an error in the icon cache file. I assume there are not any other icons that you've noticed missing in the UI?

Hey,
thanks a lot for your reply and your help. I just installed Houdini new but it didn't help. I am running the 16.0.504.20 version.
The icon is actually there and also showing, I just cannot use it. You know, I can click on it, but nothing happend.
I also notice, that if I am in the network view, the icons on the nodes are not always shown properly. Sometimes they are black boxes, then I zoom in and they are stating to flicker, showing the actual icon then again a black box, it is really strange.
I tried to find the ordner you were talking about above, but my houdini/16.0 file is completely empty.
Do you maybe have another idea?
Have a nice day

First, you should try installing the latest daily build. A lot of good stuff goes into those builds
The fact that other icons are causing problems makes me believe even more that there is an issue with your icons cache file. The exact location of that cache file depends on what OS you are on. But whatever your platform if you can do a search for the file called “SVGIcons.cache” and delete it, that should get the job done.
If deleting that file doesn't solve the issue please post the output of Help->About Houdini->Show Details. This will show us your OS, video card, driver, etc, which may help track down the issue. Actually, if you look in that window, under the “Environment” section will be an entry for “HOUDINI_USER_PREF_DIR”, which will show you the full path to your houdini16.0 directory, and the config/Icons/SVGIcons.cache file you need to delete will be in that directory.
