I'm fooling around with Houdini to create procedural piano music and this got me into the MIDI Chops. It looks super promising and with the help of Andrew Lowell's book I've been able to take the first steps fairly quickly. Today it was time to hook it back out into my piano again.

Turns out, Houdini does not send NoteOff Messages, but rather a NoteOn message with velocity (volume) 0. My piano does not understand this and sustains all notes. Does anyone know if this output is configurable somehow?

I've got a workaround now through LoopMIDI and Ableton, but this is giving me lag which hampers the use of it as a improvisational tool.
