Is apprentice version missing functions?

Hi all, I'm new to Houdini and its community, just started learning and getting into the software (looks supper promising) but quickly running into some problems getting started with a tutorial.

In this video (https://vimeo.com/231315378) at around minute 4 the tutor brings up the TAB menu (it looks longer then the one I’m getting), he then brings up an isooffset node wish I do not find anywhere.

So trying to follow this tutorial through but he seems to have another version of Houdini?
Does apprentice version have same functions/nodes, if yes then where do I find this node?
In another video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKzDvvpP7G0) they displayed the whole list of nodes (around minute 14:39), in the version I have it seems around 1/10 of that?
Also the tab itself is missing lots of categories, did I make a mistake during installation or something?

Thanks in advance,

In the screenshot, they're pressing Tab when the network editor is at the Geoemetry level (a.k.a. the SOP level), whereas you're pressing Tab when the network editor is at the Object level. You can double-click on an object node or press the I key to dive into an object, where you can then manipulate the geometry using SOPs. The object level is mostly for manipulating transforms (e.g. for rigging/animation) or setting up lights/cameras. Hopefully that helps clear things up.
Writing code for fun and profit since... 2005? Wow, I'm getting old.

Hi, iteratecgi,
Right now thought about it too:
looks supper promising
Most usually I see people would like Houdini making them cookies, but I'd prefer supper too… not joking… just agree.
Will dream about this function.

Thank you very much ndickson, typical beginner mistake and sobering reminder to start at basics.

@Ryu Ku, Those cookies would be nice indeed during the time mastering the magic spells, maybe I can get to a point making those people a cookie generator.

? Cookie generator… O_o Globally.
Absolutely sure you'll be able to create it if will want, as all the other ideas whenever you had, have or will have… if they are for everything good. Honestly wish you this. (though good could be rather subjective thing)
But imo making cookies is the nice idea - only if you like them by yourself, or they'll not be tasty. But at the other hand - maybe it's not so important to like or not and it should be just enough interesting, if it's needed to master magic… seems all come to it in different ways.
Anyway here is the only place where magic still lives, almost only.
Hope to meet you here again… wanted to say soon, but it sounds strangely.

I joined here 3 years ago, looked a bit around and then left confused, gonna stick around now as vision (from my side) is bit less obscure regarding Houdini's advantages, “probably” enough determining power now to drag myself trough the technical material and get to the side of understanding, so yeah probably gonna see me around asking questions and hopefully posting ridicules results
