Hi Guys, i hope im right in “Technical Discussion”!
im farely new to Houdini, trying to play around with a KitBash3D kit. Sice Kitbash has all their models in one single obj file, i looked for a script that separates them automatically. And i found one.
Now my problem: All the OBJ´s are going into a switch. And i can play trough the timeline with 1 obj on every frame.
But how can i use them? My understanding would be that i have to create a geo node and somehow gets 1 of the several OBJ´s from the switch into there. I just dont know how. Has this something to do with instancing and copying?
Here is the link to the script:

I hope you understand what my problem is. Thanks so much in advance!
I need help with the Switch Node!

That switch node is just picking a different input every frame for previewing. Each of those attribute wrangles is one building so you just pick which of those you want.
Hi mkps,
thanks for your help! I think i understand that. Or do i? I want to create seperate GEO´s for every single object. So i dont have to copy paste the whole thing with every object in it. That would be pretty heavy and slow…
I hope you understand what im trying to do here ^^
Thanks for the help!

Yeah, each attribute wrangle has one building. So you can either write those out to separate building caches, or you can just continue building nodes from the wrangles or use object merges to reference those wrangles and bring those buildings into other areas.
Object Merge. Thats the node i was looking for. Thanks!
