although I followed Entagma´s tutorial ( https://vimeo.com/282137418 [vimeo.com] ) on how to import Ai files to Houdini very closely (export to Ai 8 and import via a file node) somehow the last vert of every spline I import is seemingly random positioned in X/Y.
Attached you can find what I have setup and exported in Illustrator and what Houdini shows:
Does anyone have a clue on how to workarround this issue?
Hi, I'm not sure why it's happening (possibly a bug) but the last point in the curve (going from left to right) has shifted position. (Not level with it's opposite point on the left)
I've tried two workarounds. 1. Add more points to the curve in illustrator. You can do this by either using Add Anchor Points or Simplify. Still not 100% accurate but better. 2. Add more points to the curve and then use a Simplify with Straight Edges turned on. This means it will import as a polygon and the points should be accurate.
I've attached a hip file. I've left the display on the first switch sop, and if you have Display Points enabled in the viewport, you can see the difference of the imports. The convert sop is not needed for the third input (straight edge version).
