I am a graphic designer using the osx system. I have always liked and learned how to use Houdini, but the graphics card of the MacBook pro 2014 I am using is not supported by Houdini.
so I plan to buy a new mac, but I’m not sure about the mac pro 2019 's graphics card Whether supported by Houdini, I hope someone can tell me, thank you!
I have the following two options:
options 1:Mac Pro 2019
+OSx catalina 10.15.7
+3.5GHz 8‑core Intel Xeon
+32GB DDR4 ECC memory
+Radeon Pro W5500X with 8GB of GDDR6 memory
—-
options 2:MacBook Pro 16inch
+2.4GHz 8‑core 9th‑generation Intel Core i9 processor,
+64GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory
+AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 8GB of GDDR6 memory
Will The Mac Pro 2019 work well with Houdini?

Between the two choices, you're better off with the desktop option. Houdini runs fine on my 5700xt, so I would assume that other AMD GPU's of the same generation would also behave fine in Houdini. The benefit of a desktop is that you can always update the GPU down the line, where with the laptop you're stuck.
