COPs refresh?

Hi!

I'm making a texture baker (bake High geo to low geo @Cd).

I noticed that when I change the geo input that drives my VOP COP2 Generator, I don't see the update in the composite view. I end up having to disconnect and re-connect a node in vops to get Houdini to refresh.

Is there a setting to have it automatic?

Ahh! It's still not automatic but there's a "Force Compile" button on the VOP COP2 Generator. I just click on that and it does a refresh of my composite view.

Execution of the VEX generated by the VOPs doesn't create dependencies on referenced nodes (nor can it, unfortunately). This is why it doesn't update when your source geometry changes. Force Recompile will always cause the VEX script to be re-run.

I thought this was a 'is cops gonna get a refesh in a future build of houdini?' question and got very excited.

Then realised it was a tech question and got glum.

But then maybe the tech question might be fixed by a cops refresh in a future build of houdini, and got excited again.
