Hi!
I have a solver that grows branches from a tree. Some times, when I move forward in the timeline to see the branches grow (let's say up to frame 150), and go back to frame 1, I still see the frame 150 branches in the viewport. Even when I view nodes higher up the chain, I still see the solver's frame 150.
So far, the only way to fix it is to close an re-open the scene. But I eventually get the same problem.
Any ideas what I should do?
I only have one geo node containing all my sops. In this image, you can see I'm at frame 1 and I'm viewing the node above the solver yet, the viewport shows the solver's frame 150. Also, I'm in Auto Update. I also tried to clear all cache in the cache manager.
viewport doesn't refresh with solver

olivierthThis is a common issue when viewing the contents of the solver, the cached solver state is sometimes saved to the viewport and orphaned so it doesn't get cleared when changing contexts.

The only known fix is to close the viewer and create a new one, or like you have done, restart Houdini. Re-opening the viewer can be done with the 'undo close viewer' option on the pane menu.
The issue can be mostly avoided by pinning the viewer to the level above the solver before diving to edit the solver. You can't really see the solver's partially cooked state anyways so there's no reason to display it.
