it's not working because the UV seams will not match. So if you want to transfer you'll need to keep all the points/verts that are in the UV seams which will add quite a lot of extra polygons. Plan B would be to transfer the texture by baking, There are a few tools for that in labs. Google "houdini uv baking transfer texture" for more clues

OK, I wouldn't know how to do plan A but plan B seems easier. Will investigate, thanks
