Hello
Due to stability issues on Windows I want to switch for my work on linux and I've got plenty of questions and would like this topic to start conversation about good habbits, traps, limitations, for new users that wants easy transition from windows. First question I stumbled upon is sharing project files on my windows and linux. Is there huge advantages of dual drive dual boot for example? And the most important, how about assigning disc space to linux. How much should I assign because I dont really get idea about this file managaing. I'm assuming I can assign 300gb for example, and this space will be for aplications only (not shared with windows) and have third disc/partition for example, and windows and linux see all project files there? I'm planning to use 1tb ssd drive for windows, 1tb ssd for linux, and shared 4tb ssd disc for all my data file.(Is this safe, no corruption risks?). How to use interchanegably caches/renders etc? What are best practicies in this scenario? Eventually I will try to reduce my time on Windows but at the beggining I wants all my data/project files be interchangeable between OS's. Are there any caveats you would like to point out for somebody who is gonna start this transition?

kodraI've also posted on linux forum but I'm sure there are houdini specific issues and would love to hear about them from expeerienced Linux users. For example first one is licensing. Is this possible to have one license installed on both os? Second one is about nvidia drivers. Im planning to use linux mint, are there better choices in terms of distro for 3d usecase, for example because of better nvidia drivers stability?
Honestly these are not Houdini specific questions. I'm not saying you cannot post them here, but I'm sure if you ask on a Linux forum/community you will get better answers.
