Hi, I want to cheat a BG scene by using a photo as a material on a grid (instead of having to build a whole BG scene), but when I put the grid in the scene it blocks the sunlight coming through. How cam I have the sun and sky pass through the grid and hit the table but still see the geo BG in the render. I have a camera move and want everything to be correct, that's why I have the grid in there instead of just comping a background in post. See pics attached.
I tried to have the grid be excluded from the sun/sky in a light linker LOP, but to no avail.
thanks,
How to have light ignore GEO and pass through it

Hi Dan, for this you would want to use the Render Geometry Settings LOP and disable shadow casting under Shading > Render Visibility.
Awesome, thanks!
Do I choose "invisible to shadow rays?" I don't see something called shadow casting. And how do I do this for just the BG and make sure other objects cast shadows?
