Hi everyone.

I recently bought a Blackmagic eGPU for my Mac to speed up my renders with Redshift. After plugging in my eGPU, I open Houdini, go to Edit > Preferences > Miscellaneous, and set my eGPU as the OpenCL Device. I restart Houdini, but unfortunately, my render times remain the same, and I don’t understand why. I think Redshift isn’t using the eGPU. Does anyone have a solution, please?

Thanks!

Sounds like a redshift problem. Can you test it using Karma? Does Karma use your eGPU?
Using Houdini Indie 20.5
Windows 11 64GB Ryzen 16 core.

You assign GPU to use on the Redshift menu. I'm on phone but it should be button called something like prefrences inside the menu, where CPU and all GPUs found will be listed.
