The fourth episode of an art-based VFX series that I call "Art into something Digital". I'm taking real acrylic paintings of a good friend and artist (Nikolai Naidenow) and just use Houdini's endless possibilities to create the visual effects vision for whatever I see in the original artwork.
For this particular case I used Pyro, Vellum, POPs, FLIP and even a tiny bit of the ripple solver to create this admittedly gruesome clip.
