Are there any hounds barking at the gate? They have been fairly mute so far…
I can only hope that Houdini takes advantage of this to make up some lost ground to the other packages that have been using the hardware rendering technology for the last year. Hopefully Side Effects will implement it right and leapfrog over the others.
I would love to see it in VOPs AND COPs (like Apple's Motion real time compositing software)… But if Houdini could just hook up to and display a GLSL shader created externally like in ATI's RenderMonkey, I would be happy.
C'mon Side Effects- ATI is supposed to be your partner.. Let's see some partnering!
