Hi, can you please help me with an issue I have with my Generic 3 Button Mouse with Houdini. The problem is the Middle Button does not activate correctly and is functioning as if it where the Left Button. It is a PS/2 3 button mouse running on Windows XP Professional.

I have tried other drivers to configure the Middle button, but with no joy. I can configure the Right to give the responce I want from the Middle, but not the Middle.

Please can you help… MapSoft

Ack. This has nothing to do with Houdini, but did you install the mouse driver from the manufacturer were you using the default drivers installed by XP? Sometimes in the past I installed the mouse driver for my Logitech mouse and the middle click doesn't work even after some configuration. In the end, I just use the default driver from XP… :?

I installed the default driver at first, but XP automatically changed to
a Microsoft Standard PS/2 Mouse Driver. I have tried other drivers,
but the closest I got was to be able to get the Right button to perform
what I wanted from the Middle. But the Middle will only act like the
Left Button no matter what I change it to.

Hi,

WinXP has this wonderful concept of disabling the Middle Mouse button.

Please go to the Control Panel -> Mouse then you can configure what you want the Middle Mouse button to be. Just set it to “Middle Mouse Button”.

That's it.

Cheers!
