I use VSCode as my external editor and used to be able to set it up so it doesn't freeze while I am working on it and just updates once you save the file.
I don't think that is possible anymore is it?
The new method of setting it up through the $EDITOR variable force me to be opening and closing VSCode everytime I make modifications to a script.
That will really slowdown work on Python modules.
Am I missing something?

Edit on external editor and edit extra section code are LABS tools.
