This looks so amazing. Does this include a free upgrade for 2.0? Would 20 be for 17.5 or possibly 18?

Okay. That can't be because the obj had worked previously without issue. Same when I moved to a newer production build. I will watch for that though for future reference. Thanks!

Hi Marc, thanks for the reply. Are you talking about the naming convention of the obj when you say “incorrect”?
I did update to the latest production build and that seem to take care of things. Just had to relink the obj file.

I just had this happen today. What is going on. It was fine 2 days ago.

Hello,
I've experienced some freezes/lockups in Houdini where all I can do is quit the application.
When in a geometry node and wanting to go back to the ojb window, the path window seems to freeze everything up.
Does anyone have this issue or can tell me how to get it to unfreeze?

Hello,
If I'm working within a geometry node and trying to double click a polygon of a model (to select all polygons), why on earth does it select the rslightdome node and take me to within that node?
I noticed this happening often lately and not sure if it's something I'm doing or it's just a matter of changing a setting.
Any ideas? Can't imagine this is a bug, however, it is super annoying!

Hello,
Might sound like a silly question but is there a way to reset the move tool so that once I move a point, I could reselect it and move it according to world space? Would be nice to just slide it vertically/horizontally without eyeballing it and using the main/middle area to move it (in x,y and z)

No problem. I'm still learning too. Don't be too stressed about learning Houdini. Just keep at it and look things up to understand how you want things to work. Slowly, you'll learn how to navigate and it'll come easier, but just keep spending time…like guitar lessons!!! LOL

You can read about the normal node here and watch the video explaining the cusp angle. Sometimes geometry that is imported needs to be “fixed” to display and utilized correctly.

Hi Kevin,
I would do something like this:
1. Make the cone as you did by using a primitive type polygon tube.
2. Do not check the “End Caps”
3. Select the bottom edges and then choose “Polyfill”. Single Polygon is fine (Fill Mode)
4. Create the thickness by highlighting all polys and then choose “PolyExtrude”. Use positive amount towards the outside.
5. If you are going to be using subdivision to smooth it out, you'll need some edge loops around the edges you want sharpened. On the bottom, I did select the one polygon and then chose “PolyExtrude” but used “Inset” to get that edge loop from the outside edge.
6. File attached. Indie.
EDIT: IF you don't want that bottom part solid, then skip #3 and go right to PolyExtrude!

I just tried this and after I use Duplicate from hitting the tab key, the gizmo pops up to move, rotate it but not sure why you hit the Alt key. That just allows me to move around the viewport.
