Wow - can't believe that this is the last challenge. Time to go UNDERWATER. Thanks to everyone who has been participating whether it be a few days here and there or every day for the whole month.
If you are going for the IRONHEART prize, fill out the contact sheet before the deadline: https://www.sidefx.com/forum/topic/100287/. [www.sidefx.com] A forum for posting the contact sheets will go up tomorrow. Please don't post until that forum is up so all of them are in one place. We will also be bringing in an outside panel to choose the Best Images and Animations for the whole month.

I combined some of my Mardini projects into a larger scene and had some fun with the slapcomp. Big thanks to everyone involved in Mardini; I just switched to Houdini, and as far as I had the time to tag along, it’s been an amazing way to boost my skills. I’ve been loving all the incredible work from everyone.
After sunset gazing and moonbathing, Crag now takes a break with underwater staycation as Mardini draws to a close.
This shot combines everything I have learnt from fellow Mardinians and tutorials on SideFX and other sources throughout the entire 31 days of Mardini. Thanks for all your great work! You have pushed me further!
Day 31 - Underwater Decided to jump in at the very end. Rendered in LOPS with V-Ray as the delegate. Sand / Bubbles done with pops, characters created with some procedural copies and our friend squab, simmed w/ vellum. GSG looping caustics texture.
Alright, so that's it huh I wanted to make it simpler, but then felt bad about drowning Electra so decided to change the course. I think it came out pretty slick.
Lights are all procedural MTLX stuff, seabed heightfields, textures cops, pyro sand dust and pop bubbles and sand. Comp in COPs
Using pyro for some underwater bubbles. Super fun!
GSG hdri used for lighting and background. Added a black blocker and a visible area light to affect the reflections/refractions of the material to punch it up a bit.
Surprisingly I'm on time for a second day in a row. I need to be mindful of time for the next. I only had two entries total that were on time. :/ On a positive note, as my first deep dive into Houdini, I learned a ton. Looking forward to the next!
Last day and even though it’s not very long, I am very happy with this one ! Textures and HDRI are all from GSG. This is the end and a big congrats to everyone who participated and created in Houdini during the month of March.
