FBX Grp not supported-How to add materials in Solaris -help! 2020年10月30日17:03

It shouldn't be complicated but yet it has been an challenge.

I have a Character with many UV groups that I need to have materials applied and be rendered in Solaris but after spending a **few days** trying to research how to have my characters setup properly, I discovered that FBX implementation is not yet finished!

I can get groups from obj files easily but FBX is not yet supported. So what is the ideal way how to get my character with the materials working in Solaris?

I did find one way on the OBJ level to add a connectivity node with attribute set to class and a partition node with Group_`@class` set as the rule then with the partition node set to render then look on your material node you have the option to select a group in the list.

So I received part of the instruction from here https://vimeo.com/202661289 [vimeo.com]

I appreciate any help on the matter.

Hi Cyte,
thanks for the question.
The version on the paper does not, but we modified since then. Now it works on any mesh containing non-quads element.

I think you should message SideFX directly rather than wait for a response on the forum. I'd like to see this added or available to purchase on www.orbolt.com

Official release of the Houdini Music Toolset (HMT) 2020年6月5日7:21

Hi Andrew looks awesome! I was wondering could this be reversed? -sound samples trigger ocean waves? I'm inquiring specifically about using an actual ocean wave recording, the amplitude generate larger waves and white noise intensity drives more white water or foam

I produce music as well but in this case I'm looking for nature sound to drive life into Houdini. The music aspect makes me think of things like cartoon character walking -a raised footstep making a synth then as it contacts with he surface a drumbeat.
