same error here. apple silicon MacBook Air. I have stucked for a month. No problem on my PC or my Intel chip Mac.

So there is problem with loading Houdini libraries through Silicon version of Unity. I've installed Intel version of Unity and looks like problem is gone. Silicon version of Houdini is currently in preview and has no Houdini Plugin support.

I tried with a Intel version Unity editor but it doesn't work as well. Could you tell me your houdini version and unity editor version? Thanks.

This happens on my apple silicon macbook air. When I tried to open a hda file or drag it to unity editor window, this error occurs to ask for a license. But I do have license as this screenshot shows.
ps: It works fine on my PC.
